Green Tree, Red Cliff
Along Lake Superior’s south shore, there is a place near the Wisconsin Michigan border that would be quite easy to drive past, just a little pull off. If you were to stop and explore, you would be rewarded with a hike down a steep path, to the edge of the greatest of the Great Lakes at the mouth of a small river. Follow this river upstream and you soon find yourself staring up at a scene of falling flowing water, red high cliffs, tall majestic trees, backed by a brilliant blue sky.

Bark Braids

The twisting lines of the bark brought back memories of braiding my, now grown girls, hair some long time ago.

Tree, Sea, Sky
Driving home from south of town, I saw this cloud bank tracing a line across the sky and heading toward the Big Lake. A little detour brought me to a spot on the shore that I could capture the leading edge as it flowed over the lake.
